Obtaining Water Services

Application for water and sewer can be made at the Utilities Customer Service Center located on the main floor of Rouss City Hall, 15 North Cameron Street. For more information, please call 667-1815 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A deposit is required for all first time residential customers and credited to the account after six consecutive timely payments.

Refuse and Recycling Collection

Refuse and recycling is collected once per week (see schedule below). Please place all trash and recycling near the curb by 7:30 a.m. or no later than 6:00 p.m. the night before. Call 667-1815, ext. 1452 to obtain a blue recycling bin.

Monday & Tuesday - General Recycling

Co-mingle glass, aluminum cans and foil, #1 & #2 plastics in a bin and place mixed paper in a paper bag.

Wednesday - Cardboard and Seasonal Items
Leaves, grass clippings, other yard waste and Christmas trees

Thursday & Friday - Refuse Collection

A maximum of three containers (bags or cans) will be collected at each household or business

Sidewalk Responsibilities

The property owner is responsible for the repair of sidewalks unless the damage was caused by a city tree.

Property owners must remove snow from their sidewalk and/or curb within two hours after any snow or sleet has ceased to fall (if in the daytime) and before 9:00 a.m. on the day succeeding (if in the nighttime).
