Fire and Rescue
A message from Chief Frank E. Wright
We work hard to be prepared and to be ready to provide emergency and non-emergency services such as:
- Emergency Medical Services ( EMS )
- Fire Suppression & Rescue
- Hazardous Materials Response & Mitigation
- Fire Investigations
- Fire Prevention Inspections
- Fire & EMS Public Education
- Child Safety Seat Installation and Training
- Assist with the management of our Emergency Communication Center (911)
- Assist with the coordination of local and regional resources.
We are also proud to be a participant in many community events and providing Fire & EMS coverage for our Apple Blossom and other festivals, First Night Winchester, Handley Football Games and events in the Old Town .
We also want to be proactive and anticipate the future needs of our department and our community so we can continue to enhance the quality of service and ensure the safety of our personnel. We encourage input from all people to help our department improve.
We feel that it is also important for each member our community to be prepared: having smoke detectors along with a home escape plan, emergency supplies on hand, as well as support group during time of a community disaster or winter storm.
I want the citizens of Winchester and the men and women of our department to know that I am proud to be your Fire & Rescue Chief and will strive to help you make us better.
Please feel free to call us at anytime if you need non-emergency assistance or want to visit one of the Fire & Rescue Stations. Non-emergency phone 540-662-2298 Monday – Friday 0700 to 1700 hours or 540-662-4131 24 hours a day every day. EMERGENCY PHONE 911
Thank you for your support!
Frank E. Wright, Chief
